DFW International Community Alliance announces the third DFW International Dinner with keynote speaker Mayor Tom Leppert of Dallas on Thursday, August 26, 2009. Fifteen local mayors are expected to attend. The dinner will be held at Temple Emanu-El, 8500 Hillcrest Road at 6 pm and will include a banquet featuring 5 courses of global cuisine. The banquet is also the organization's annual fundraiser; individual tickets are available for $100 from the webpage www.dfwinternational.org or by calling 972-965-5727.

In this annual networking dinner, New Americans from 70 nations will present their flags and national costumes, and as we acknowledge the many cultural, civic and economic contributions immigrants bring to the fastest growing area in the country. Dallas’ Mayor Tom Leppert will be joined by his colleagues as they speak about the role played by New Americans in the local and global economy.

Honorary Chair and Addison Mayor Joe Chow, says, "As an international university student in Oklahoma and a part-time employee in a Chinese restaurant, I experienced firsthand the many opportunities offered by America. Hard work made it possible for me to open my own business and run for public office so I could give back to the community. I am looking forward to the International Dinner where our international leaders and area mayors can candidly talk about what immigrants bring to our nation and the ways they affect the cities in which we live. Please join us at this special event and let our mayors, media and special guests know how proud and grateful we are for the promise and realization of the American Dream."
